About The Practitioner

I made my living selling Tie Dye at Grateful Dead shows and Art Festivals for over 30 years. When the economy started to turn in about 2007, I knew I had to make a change. Plus I wanted to turn my love of yoga into an income generating activity since I was dedicating so much time to it. I lucked into a Partner Yoga/Yogassage class in my little town in WV. So I thought my path would be yoga teaching, until I found the practice of Thai Yoga Massage. And amazingly, I choose to study Ashtanga Yoga - which uses lots of hands on assists and adjusts to instruct. When you feel it, you know it. I taught group classes for about 5 years, but find the one on one practice of Thai Yoga Bodywork/Private Yoga much more effective and satisfying.  I am blessed and humbled to practice Thai Yoga Massage - it is compassion in action. I hold my Advanced Certification in Thai Yoga Massage from the Lotus Palm School in Montreal, QC, Canada. This is supported by my 25+ year Yoga practice, including 200 hour Teacher Training through Yandara Yoga Institute, Todos Santos, MX 2008, and David Swenson's Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Austin, TX 2011.  I love traditional styles of Iyengar and Ashtanga, but I am not a traditionalist. I approach Thai Yoga from the Assisted Yoga side. When I felt my first Down Dog Assist, I KNEW what I was doing with my life. I hope the practice of assisted stretching has just as profound an effect on your life!
